Recognizing that the holidays are a struggle for many individuals and families in need, Springboard Community Services hosts an annual Adopt-a-Family campaign to lift the spirits of its clients who are experiencing poverty or unexpected challenges in life.

This year, the Adopt-a-Family campaign attracted strong support from businesses, individual donors, non-profits, and religious organizations who purchased gifts listed on the wish lists of 150 families and 250 individuals. Recipients range from mothers and children seeking assistance from our Domestic Violence Safe House in Carroll County to young adults in counseling to treat depression or trauma related to abuse, as well as senior citizens enrolled in Springboard’s Medical Adult Day Care.

“For many, the holidays can be a reminder of what we do not have and awareness of our loneliness or grief,” said F.T. Burden, CEO of Springboard Community Services. “The generosity of our supporters and partners to purchase gifts from each client’s wish list exemplifies the true spirit of the season – to care and love one another.”
