Come and Rock the Block on Wednesday, May 4, from 11 AM – 2 PM, to celebrate the grand opening of Springboard’s Youth Resource Center (YRC) at its Baltimore office, 4623 Fall Road. The Center serves young adults ages 14 to 24.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 12:30 PM led by Springboard CEO, F.T. Burden, Vice President of the City Council Sharon Green Middleton, and Baltimore’s Deputy Mayor Faith Leach. Before and after the ribbon-cutting event,
American Idol Top 14 finalist, Katyrah Love (a Baltimorean), will perform.
Guests will be treated to tours of the YRC, complimentary snacks from local food trucks, a 360 photo booth, carnival games, and raffles to win a TV and Air Pods, and a guest DJ from 92Q. All youth participants will receive a “passport,” which they’ll get stamped as they travel from resource table to table at the event. Once they visit all tables, they can enter the raffle.
The YRC is free and open to all. YRC participants can gain access to counseling, navigation to obtain housing, workforce development, assistance with job placement, and educational / wellness classes. In addition to those key resources, the young adults can receive support to access food, laundry/shower facilities, clothing, and hygiene items.
Springboard Community Services, formerly known as Family and Children Services of Central Maryland, has served Baltimore and Central MD since 1849. Throughout its history, Springboard has continually evolved to meet the needs of its times. Creation of the Youth Resource Center is in response to the growing need to assist disengaged youth and young adults in Baltimore. https://www.springboardmd.org/rock-the-block-yrc-grand-opening/
