Paula Glascoe began her career as an educator obtaining her degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland College Park. During her years as a teacher, she primarily focused her skills on the social-emotional development of young children in conjunction with didactic learning. Her observation of barriers to social-emotional development and growth due to systemic and institutional inequity and inequality led her to pursue a Master’s in Social Work. She earned her MSW from the University of Maryland with a concentration in behavioral health and a minor in Employee Assistance Programs. Upon graduation, she went on to work in a residential setting with adolescents focusing her attention on girls and female survivors of human trafficking. She then went on to work as a community-based therapist in Montgomery County working with an array of clients including young children, adolescents, and adults. Paula has an eclectic approach incorporating a variety of clinical interventions including Trauma Informed CBT, DBT-informed approach, Solution Focused Counseling and many more. Paula is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional skilled in assisting clients with severe trauma. Paula accepts clients of any age.
